NABCOP 2022 Annual Report
We have published our sixth and final annual report on the treatment and outcomes of older women diagnosed with breast cancer in England and Wales.
We are excited to be formally launching the report at the Association of Breast Surgery conference in Liverpool on 16-17 May 2022!
We have also published a summarised version for the Public and Patients.

The NABCOP fitness assessment form for older women in breast clinic
The NABCOP has developed a fitness assessment form which aims to provide an objective and standardised approach to evaluating overall health among older women:
- It includes validated instruments to assess frailty and cognitive ability.
- It is intended to be completed at the initial diagnostic clinic, for all women aged 70+ presenting with symptoms and signs suspicious of breast cancer.
- It allows for early identification of patients who are frail, or who may require additional support throughout treatment.
The NABCOP guide to the breast cancer pathway for older women
We have worked with our patient and charity representatives to develop a two-sided guide, designed to encourage conversations between patients and their breast care team.
The guide is particularly relevant to women aged 70+ diagnosed with breast cancer, with question prompts for patients to discuss key elements of their care and treatment.
Thank you for your participation in this national clinical audit since 2016 on behalf of the NABCOP team
