Clinical Steering Group: Minutes of meetings
The purpose of the Clinical Steering Group (CSG) is to provide guidance and support on the direction and deliverables of the National Audit of Breast Cancer in Older Patients (NABCOP) and to encourage support from professional members.
The CSG has members from patient associations, medical associations, multi-disciplinary experts in the area of breast cancer and medical care of the older person, and policy makers.
The CSG’s objective are to:
- Advise on proposed audit analyses and presentation of results.
- Review and prioritise identified audit questions.
- Inform the Project Team about relevant national initiatives and evolving clinical evidence.
- Advise on study design, and appropriate process and outcome measures.
- Comment on the Audit dataset and methods of data collection.
- Advise on proposed audit analyses and presentation of results.
- Comment on the findings of the Audit and their interpretation.
- Support Audit communication with professional colleagues on Audit aims and data collection.
- Help publicise the results of the NABCOP among patients, the professions involved and other stakeholders.
- Represent the views of the associated professional and patient groups.

In addition to the support provided by the CSG, the audit is overseen by a Project Board (PB). The PB is responsible for ensuring that NABCOP works within the contracts covering the delivery of the audit, and directing the strategic work of the audit. The PB has representation from patient associations, medical associations, and the commissioners; members are listed in the NABCOP Annual Reports .
