NABCOP CancerStats area

The CancerStats information and reporting portal is the repository for all feedback on the national datasets which are managed or supported by the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS).

• • This includes the Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset (COSD); one of the main data sources for the NABCOP’s reporting. Completeness and quality of these data were therefore paramount to the NABCOP publishing accurate information, and this will continue to be the case for the two new breast cancer audits.

The NABCOP Level 2: Data Completeness Reports

Enabled users to monitor COSD data returns in real time, and update their data within the current calendar year.

The NABCOP Level 3: Data Completeness Reports

Enabled users to interrogate the 2014-2018 datasets reported on in the NABCOP 2020 Annual Report, and produce bespoke analyses.

The NABCOP Quarterly Reports

Enabled trusts to monitor the data completeness of the following pre-specified key COSD data items on a quarterly basis: TNM staging, Performance Status, Treatment Start Date, and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) seen.

The NABCOP Data View

This template, found within CancerStats, provided patient level detail for all NABCOP eligible patients within Somerset (SCR) Systems, and increased awareness of which key NABCOP metrics require improvement.
